Join us on Shabbat Hanukkah for a Community Dinner! We will be learning from Rabbi Dr. Eugene Korn and celebrating the holiday together. 

Rabbi Dr. Eugene Korn holds a doctorate in moral philosophy from Columbia University and Orthodox rabbinic ordination from Pirchei Shoshanim in Israel. He was founding editor of The Edah Journal. His books include Jewish Theology and World Religions; Plowshares in Swords? Reflections on Religion and Violence; Covenant and Hope; Two Faiths, One Covenant?; and The Jewish Connection to Israel. His English writings have been translated into Hebrew, German, Italian and Spanish. He and his wife, Lila Magnus Korn, live in Jerusalem. 

Rabbi Dr. Korn and Rabbi Leener will have a conversation about the main ethical challenges for us today and in the future, drawing on topics from his recent book "To Be A Holy People: Jewish Tradition and Ethical Values" - including gender ethics, power/military ethics, Israel, and more - and then facilitate an open conversation. 

Here is the schedule of the evening:

  • 4:30 pm Kabbalat Shabbat
  • 6:00 pm Dinner
  • 7:00 pm Learning

Dinner will be catered by Raisie from Ceder Star, will take place indoors and vaccination is required for 12+. Vegetarian options will be provided. *Please note - we want to ensure everyone who wants to attend can! If cost is prohibitive, please reach out to us.
